There are numerous opportunities to volunteer within the Mount Laurel Schools. Many of our volunteers work through our seven Parent-Teacher Organizations (PTOs) and assist with special events. Our PTO groups operate school stores, organize fundraisers and arrange assemblies. They host student functions during and after the school day, including many family events.

In addition to our PTOs, many of our elementary schools have room parents who will assist in coordinating special events within the classroom and help to keep all parents apprised of upcoming events.  Parents interested in working on PTO activities should reach out to a PTO Officer in their child's school.

Individuals unaffiliated with PTO activities assist in the libraries, assemble information packets for parents and lend a hand in the offices.  These individuals should reach out to a school secretary, in the building in which they wish to volunteer, who will lead them through the process.

No matter how one chooses to volunteer, all of those who help in our schools receive training from either our PTO Officers, or our staff members. All school volunteers will receive our district Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Manual with Review Acknowledgement to review and sign. The signed Review Acknowledgement page, confirming review of the material, is kept on file in our school offices to assure that all adults in our buildings are aware of the procedures to follow should an instance of bullying occur in their presence.

Depending upon the frequency of visits and the nature of the regularly scheduled work, some volunteers may be required to attain a Criminal History Review approval through the NJ State Department of Education,  The cost of these reviews will be reimbursed by the district for those individuals instructed by the district to be processed.
